With a reduction in speed to 20mph experts and the motoring sector including the AA and RAC say that this leads to a 10% increase in pollution on busy roads. Putney recently recorded very high pollution levels that were said to be very harmful if it continued due to problems that caused a slower level of speed constantly over a period of time. ( Roadworks ) cant remember why With pollution from cars being very much the problem for many people in the inner cities would it not be a case with signed plans in place to reduce co2 emissions that the opposite happened and in 10 years time all those busy and built up roads had an enforced u turn. Sounds silly but with co2 emissions very much on the agenda world wide i would not rule an enforced u turn if so many roads did have a reduced speed limit put in place |
