"If it is about safety, why is it not borough wide on ALL roads across the borough and not just all roads in Chiswick?" You might quibble about a few roads, but generally the same rules have been applied across the whole borough: 20mph on residential roads and roads with high pedestrian use. Some through routes such as Bath Road have been added recently, apparently to achieve consistency with other boroughs, but LBHF's reported decision may affect that. I would think that Chiswick has fewer roads outside the above definition than other areas, but Power Road, being mainly industrial and commercial, is not to have a 20mph limit. "why are there average speed cameras being installed on the A316 Chertsey Road". The A316 is controlled by TfL, who are installing average speed cameras on several routes including the A316. Those on the A40 are already in operation. |
