But Philippa, I wonder exactly what the regulations are because neither Richmond council offices nor the WLWA have said whether there is a charge for Hounslow private residents or not. The kind John Todd has not been able to extract this information from the MD of WLWA and Richmond have kindly emailed me saying I can use it but crucially leave out any reference to charges and have not responded to my subsequent specific question on this. When I rang Townmead they said there is a £41 charge because I lived in Hounslow. I am not in business or commercially involved in disposing of rubbish and I don't have and never have used a van. I am retired and only ever have had a car. My only “crime” was to have a bag with the word “Hounslow” on it. Surely someone at Richmond or WLWA can either say, or better still put it in writing, whether there is a charge or not? The fact is they don't or won't and it has got me wondering why this is. I suppose it gives them the option to charge or not as they see fit at the time. We need an answer! |
