Richard, you wouldn't be encouraging me to plan an illegal action would you? ! Anyway, the garden rubbish to which I refer was and is growing in Hounslow so perhaps.....Hounslow rather than Richmond? But, being serious, there used to be a reciprocal agreement between Richmond and Hounslow and now there isn't one that is in force at point of use. It appears to me that both Richmond and Hounslow Councils are content with the status quo: 1) I have telephoned Richmond who say quite emphatically that yes I can use Townmead but ONLY on payment of £41 per visit which is the price for private householders living in LB Hounslow, as well as businesses, and 2) a Hounslow councillor has kindly spoken with a number of LB Hounslow councillors/staff and the MD of West London Waste Association and none of them can state categorically what the situation is. Surely a simple sign, ie excluding all the small print, saying who can use the dump and what the charges are would be available for both users and dump staff to refer to. As long as they put those up at a distance ie on a website, and then don't bother to explain the charges then confusion and endless waste of time and energy ensues....I can't believe I am spending time writing this on a sunny Sunday morning!!! |
