| 'Yes Chiswick residents may use Townmead Centre. It is a free service unless you’re using a business van. They type of identification you will need to bring is a passport, council tax bill, bank statement and driving licence etc" Thank you John but although that is what the Richmond Council office staff SAY, it is not what they instruct their staff onsite at Townmead to follow. If the office staff were to instruct Townmead what they tell YOU then we would be half way to resolving the problem. Also, "In future all information on Townmead is on our website. See link below: http://www.richmond.gov.uk/townmead_road'" The website clearly states that Hounslow residents can use Townmead. No one disputes that expect the staff on the ground at Townmead who say 1) No-one paying their council tax to Hounslow can use Townmead, and the Townmead telephone office staff say 2) "yes of course Hounslow residents can use Townmead; that is what it says on the website." But what the website omits and the Townmead telephone answerer goes on to inform you is that private residents from Hounslow must pay £41 per visit. This is not because you are a business but because you live in Hounslow. Surely it isn't beyond the wit of mankind to put up a bit of paper in the Townmead office window that says private residents from Hounslow can use these facilities. That way not only can the public refer to it but far more importantly the staff on the ground can have it read to them or read it themselves. I quite appreciate you are from Hounslow, not Richmond, but couldn't some sort of pressure be brought to bear? This is not just one person at Townmead but several joined in to confirm that Hounslow residents cannot use Townmead. I gather from replies on here that this problem has, for some Hounslow residents, been going on for 8 years! This is a huge waste of everyone's time, effort, energy and money.....and on it goes. I bet you thought you'd got the problem solved with that last email of yours John! |
