| Julian, I don't think many people will be comfortable about giving M&S a pass on this until we know more of the facts. The videos show a huge amount of perfectly edible food being put in bins. It could be that this was for distribution to charities like City Harvest which take excess foods from supermarkets or it could be that it was heading for local foodbanks who would be crying out for this kind of donation. On the other hand, if it was being disposed of, I think that you would be in a minority thinking that is acceptable even allowing for possible teething problems at the new store. A question on this from a journalist means that the company must supply a definitive answer and then we will know either way. |
