| 'Binning' things doesn't necessarily mean that they will be destroyed. It can simply be a method of sorting and transporting. Let's hope it was just that. However all systems can suffer glitches every so often and also all systems need to be reassessed every so often. It was in 2016 that the French passed a law to say that all supermarket food excess should be distributed - and that is now ten years ago. It is better that it is all eaten if it is safe to do so - especially when there are so many people struggling to put food on the table here for their families nowadays. There is a lot of ignorance nowadays about what is safe to eat and what isn't. What you do at home and what a well-known business does is likely to be quite different. |
