The article on the front page concerning eBikes and Hounslow's response to users' concerns still misses the point by some margin as they fail to see the importance of being able to jump on a bike and actually get to your destination without having to change bike or park 10mins away from where you want to be. I was out and about today (Saturday) and saw several Lime, Voi and Forest bikes struggling to cross Kew Bridge because the bike had powered down. I also passed several points on the approach to Chiswick where herds of Lime bikes were gathered, clearly this being the point at which they ceased to function. Jake our eldest used a Forest bike the other day and said the experience was "Sh*t" as he had to change rides in order to get home. His recent Lime experience fared no better - his girlfriend Limed in from Twickenham but had to stop her ride near Chiswick Park Tube as her Lime stopped. This was at 1am in the morning and Jake had to meet her in order to walk her safely home. This is not a good situation! |
