It has made the process all a bit harder. I live right on the boundary of Hounslow and Ealing which now means there are two piles of bikes! A load of Limes on the edge of Ealing and then Forests/Vois on the edge of Hounslow. I regularly used limes to go down to the River, to Barnes etc, it was very handy as I had a Lime parking area 50m from my front door. To get to somewhere like Barnes now I can either get a lime and then take the significant detour avoiding the Hounslow no-go area, this sort of removes the whole point of cycling the quickest most direct route, not to mention the increased cost. Or I take a Forest (if I can find one, they seem few and far between at the moment) cycle down to the river, finish the trip as it can’t be used S of the river and then find a Lime to continue my journey! All a bit of a palaver! Why the councils can’t all just get along and share I don’t know! It would be cheaper, more convenient and I wouldn’t need 3 different cycle apps on my phone, all with my data, bank details etc! We have this lovely cycle superhighway running through W4, could the councils/ companies/?TFL? allow any make of e-bike to operate on this? |
