| Well, you would have thought that Jackie Elton and Cllr Biddolph would recognise that parking in Bond St means fewer vehicles parking in the street. Cllr Mushiso made this point at the licensing panel. “When I hear another councillor complain about the use of Bond St car park, I can’t get my head around that, as that’s the only thing which will help Jackie with people not parking in her street,” he said. He also told the meeting he had not received any complaints about the market himself, even though he represented the same ward as Cllr Biddolph, Chiswick Gunnersbury, which the market is in. “I do not recognise the complaints that Joanna Biddolph mentioned. Usually they come to all of us by email and I haven’t had any.” I can certainly think of some explanations for the apparent contradictory position of the objectors. In the cw4 article Cllr Biddolph was quoted as saying "Cllr Biddolph said she was unaware until the meeting that the Flower Market would no longer be able to use the car park" Actually, the Flower Market can use the car park, it is just they don't have exclusive use of it. However just because Cllr Biddolph wasn't aware of this change can still mean that she objected, but wasn't aware her objection had been acted upon. Indeed, if you look at the submissions to the licensing panel, Cllr Biddolph claims "this is not an objection" then goes on to list 3 pages of objections. Sophistry in action. |
