| I don't think anyone on this thread has mentioned the enormous cost of getting a bobby on the street. I recall reading some 20 years ago that the figure was something like £200 per hour...taking into account:training costs,uniforms,holidays,overtime, special allowances,sick leave, pensions from the age of 55/60/65...including widows where appropriate, accommodation in some cases...and so on. What must be the hourly cost these days. I believe that when our Governments in the past sunk more money into Policing..much of it disappeared away from "being on the beat" activities. I sympathize much for the Police having to face today's challenges... and also for the OP's plight.. Criminals cost us a bomb to keep track of. |
