@Susan, my thoughts exactly.
@Julian, the calls were definitely made while the crime was in progress. Our neighbourhood watch person is following it up with the police to find out why they wouldn't come.
The car was a 2015 reg and worth around 35,000 quid, probably. Given the theft of another range rover in the area just four days before -if I had an expensive newish car in the Grove Park/SotG area I'd be worried right now.
