| In the early hours of this morning, (4am) a pair of car thieves spent a full hour and a half breaking into and then disabling the anti-theft mechanisms of a white Range Rover parked in Spring Grove, setting off the car alarm at regular intervals, before finally speeding off in the stolen vehicle the wrong way down the street around 5.30am. Neighbours made calls to 999 as the theft was proceeding - police would have had ample time to arrive and nab the culprits. They refused to come out "there's nothing we can do unless the owner tells us its stolen". Really? A neighbour videoed the whole thing. A black range rover was stolen, incidently, up the road in Grove Park four days ago. I suspect these chaps will continue to operate with impunity given that our police are no longer turning up at crime scenes. |
