| We know that children can cycle on the pavement and they can also scoot. It is the lack of parental supervision that is the problem with children - the parents and nannies allowing them free-rein while they talk on their mobiles or natter amongst themselves and the speed that in particular the small scooter riders go with no thought or consideration whatsoever to anyone else on the pavement. Their height means that there is no way that anybody reversing out of a driveway would see them. The day before yesterday I did come across an accompanying mother cross and loudly reprimanding her kids for disobeying her and not stopping and waiting at a crossover. We would all have preferred that she hadn't had to be but - well done her! |
