I think everyone supports the idea of a cinema but clearly parking will need to be addressed in the immediate vicinity (Zone EC). Current controlled hours are Mon-Sat 9am to 7pm so there is going to be an issue with films showing in the evening and on a Sunday where people I'm sorry to say will drive to the cinema and use the local non-controlled streets despite numerous people on this thread convincing themselves otherwise. There's good public transport to Westfield but loads of people drive to the cinema there. Why? It's convenient and who wants to get on public transport at midnight? I think it's naive to think otherwise. Perhaps extending the EC zone to 9pm and include Sundays may work out but as said will probably need additional guest vouchers to compensate. If Picturehouse are prepared to meet the costs of extending the controlled hours then that has got to be a solution seriously worth considering in my view. |
