"Seems a rather awkward attitude for these people to have; they buy a house off a high street, don't want people parking outside it, and object to development on that basis. They want all the benefits of living in town with none of the drawbacks, and retard economic and cultural life as a result." Why shouldn't they be able to park outside or near their homes, they have paid a premium to live there, money that was no doubt hard earned? I'm sure most of them accept there has to be some non-resident parking - people already park in those streets now to go to bars and restaurants, for instance - but this is potentially lots more cars. |
