Their houses are expensive so they have a right to stop people parking outside them? What a bizarrely elitist perspective. Should people who live in Marylebone or Knightsbridge have preferential access to kerbside parking on the same basis? Commuter parking is prevented by a CPZ; extending its hours will mean fewer people visiting restaurants and bars in the evening and push even more business away to Kew and Richmond. And won't Hounslow be only to happy to step in with more restrictions, wardens, mobile CCTV and fines? CHR is in decline; shops go, estate agents fill the gaps, and there's precious little reason to visit at all any more. For nimbyism to compound this decline further is reprehensible. |
