If so I'd say that you are rather 'out of touch'. On the contrary, David is only reacting to some of the disingenuous bilge spouted by the aforesaid companies when they really mean maximising shareholder value, which they are duty bound to do, but which isn't the same thing at all. Take a recent example from BAA's CEO: "Research results suggest that the UK is handing the thousands of jobs and millions of pounds worth of trade which would come with extra flights to our European competitors and show the urgent need for new hub airport capacity". |
