Funny at the end of the Telegraph (another R3 mouthpiece) it noted that a year ago the same consultants who have written the current report said the loss of foreign trade was £1.2bn. Now its £14bn, as they looked at more markets over a longer period.... how much do they get paid for this cr*p. HACAN also shot down the whole China argument. BAA saying we are losing connectivity to China. What they dont mention is the current bilateral agreement between China and UK which limits us to 62 flights a week between China (ex HK) and the UK. I understand with recent launch of service from LGW, we are not at this limit. So we could have 4 runways at LHR and there would be NO MORE flights allowed to China!!!! BAA also ignore flights to HK, which LHR completely dominates versus other European airports. It is very sad that the US style of ignoring the facts in any public debate have entered the UK, thanks to BAA and their expensive array of PR advisers. |
