Anyway, these debates are not doubt fun, but in the context of democratic politics in the UK (which the majority of the population give two-tenths of jack all about) they're pretty much irrelevant. David's apparent view that you get what you pay for when it comes to democracy might not sit too well with the general public who, if they can be bothered, are watching expense troughing MPs sitting merrily in the Cabinet as if they're somehow better than us. We're paying, mate, but we're damn well not getting much for it, are we now? |
