| Sorry, Francis, this sounds like the council screwed itself and all of us. While no fan of the intrusion these events cause those, I can appreciate the need for revenue. There are also a number of other less offensive options out there: silent cinema, anyone? Opera? Dance? Something to draw a different demographic. Perhaps an art exhibit? Just. Think. Outside. The. Box. You're giving the council a free pass is precisely what is wrong with the current state of affairs. You've appear complacent to utter inefficiency and mediocrity when leadership and proactive measures are needed. If there were extenuating circumstances, get creative. Call an emergency meeting, do something, anything, to expedite. By doing nothing, as you say, the council has dug a hole that didn't need to be there. A hole they, themselves, told us all they needed to be rid of. Do the math. If you shoot yourself in the foot, it hurts. |
