"TfL data shows that before it closed, 22,000 cars, 1,800 buses and 16,000 pedestrians used the bridge daily." That secondary source from MyLondon is way off the DfT bus counts: https://roadtraffic.dft.gov.uk/manualcountpoints/26899 The last DfT manual count was less than a thousand cyclists and just over 1000 buses. The estimates fit 2018 were slightly lower. TfL estimated 3000 pedestrians and 1500 cyclists crossed the bridge before the closure. LBHF counted an average of nearly 4000 cyclists and 14000 pedestrians in 2019 after the closure. You’re deliberately overlooking that there are options that should be made available now for those who have difficulty walking over the bridge. You’re the one being insistent that everyone has to walk or cycle over the bridge unless buses can cross the bridge again. They don’t. |
