| Richard, there may be less air pollution on Fishers Lane which is which obviously is a good thing but are you claiming that there is less air pollution overall? Hounslow Council's independent traffic consultant Steer were unwilling to reach this conclusion and traffic has been displaced from Fishers Lane to South Parade and Acton Lane as well as Prebend Gardens. In the case of Acton Lane at least this traffic is often static which will increase the amount of harmful emissions. While we don't have sufficient evidence to say categorically that closing Fishers Lane has increased air pollution overall, I'd say that, on the balance of probability, it has done. |
