| Steve, I agree with your motives and of course that solves the geometrical problem studiously avoided by Joanna and David. But the result would be to push a good proportion of those same cars along the High Road, and the A4 is indeed currently used by only a handful of cyclists. Through car traffic is the bane of the High Road, bringing pollution, noise and safety risks to Chiswick for no benefit. CW9 will transfer through traffic from car to bike along the High Road encouraging the shift we're already seeing with bikes now peaking at 60% of cars in the mornings. The result, a cleaner, quieter and safer High Road. |
