| It is of course possible that people were reluctant to take on leases with construction of the cycle path taking place. Whatever the ultimate impact, trade is likely to fall on the High Road during this period. It would be marvelous to see a big increase in people visiting the High Road and that would be a great benefit to many businesses but not perhaps those that were selling anything heavy. The big losers though will be shops on the south side. At the moment you can cross the road by zebra crossing with minimal delay. Post CW9 there will be a signalised crossing over effectively six lanes of traffic. |
