| It's affected my family in many ways. 1) I have worked fulltime all my life - as has my husband. All we have of any value is our house. This is devalued (I have no particular grudge with this) 2) My job is disappearing in September and will be replaced by someone in Europe 3) Worldwide execs who were coming to the UK are now being diverted to Europe (my company) 4) My son in law - who lives in Holland - can only find temporary work because the Dutch are now wary of employing a Brit 5) My daughter has faced some angry questions in Holland because she only pays 30% tax as opposed to 50%. People are asking why that is so 6) My paltry savings are already earning virtually nothing and will now earn nothing at all 7) I suspect my miserable pension will be even more miserable. 8) Going on holiday is prohibitively expensive and will be impossible. BUT, I am still pretty lucky because of where I was born. I don't forget that, many do. If I thought for one minute that this was a good result for poorer areas and people, I would be fine with it but it isn't. |
