Paul "They create a limit that each household can put in general waste each week therefore creating an incentive for more waste to be put in recycling." How does that work? The wheelie bins are enormous. Far too big for many households. Surely that removes any effective limit? At least that's what I have heard from many people on here and at the public meeting recently. It makes no sense. Can you explain what I am missing? "there are some good reasons for introducing wheelie bins" What are they? I have heard nothing convincing. the point I am making is not about wheelie bins specifically (or CPZ, or CCTV for that matter). the point I am making is that LBH will do whatever they want, regardless of any local objections, consultation, or complaints. They have demonstrated this over and again. And I am sick to death of trying to reason with LBH. Being polite, writing nice letters, waiting patiently for someone to reply to you. Following the labyrinthine procedures. Showing up at public meetings. Signing petitions. It's all a waste of time. They are dishonest and they are profligate. On a regular basis. That's the straight truth. You seem to be saying that if we are all nice and polite, and just say nothing, and wait for the nice officers to revisit the issue, then I say you have not been taking much notice for the last few years. They are not interested in revisiting any issue once they have decided what we will be getting. Were you at the meeting on Wheelie Bins? Did you hear what Steve Curran said? he said "we are always interested in getting local residents' views on these matters" and then he said "we have decided that Wheelie Bins will be introduced across the borough and we will not be changing that decision". So it really doesn't make any difference whether we are polite to him or not, does it? |
