Thank you Peter Thompson by gracing the discussion with facts rather than opinion. Is it necessarily right to blame Hounslow Council for not clarifying who would maintain the footbridge in the original agreement? The assumption that Ealing Council should be pleased to have a new piece of valuable local infrastructure built for free is not unreasonable. Is it common for developers to have an ongoing responsibility to maintain anything paid for by them as part of an s106 agreement? From what has been said here it looks like the villain of the piece is Ealing Council who have opportunistically attempted to extract funds out of the Business Park. The net result is that the strain on local transport infrastructure gets progressively worse whilst nothing can be done to improve the situation. |
