| Jeremy not Richard? I'm trying to salvage something from a bad situation. Obviously it is not ideal that the only disabled people who could cross the bridge would be those with the means to pay for a cab and the technical nous to book it but even that would be better than the current situation. Blowing the bridge up would mean that nobody could cross and there would be no chance of ever restoring the bus service would mean universal provision for people with mobility issues. A compromise could be that the cabs could be a free shuttle service from Barnes to Charing Cross hospital etc, but that would have to be paid for by the rest of us and would serve a much smaller number of people. |
