| As per London Centric, the driverless buses appear to be a non-starter due to TfL opposition, union backlash and them being too heavy. That's before you start to deal with potential problems on how you regulate use. It isn't a solution for today but Waygo type taxis could be given permission to cross the bridge if they were carrying a pre-registered passenger with a blue badge, assuming they don't fall foul of the weight restrictions too. This wouldn't work for people who struggle with tech or are on low incomes but at least it would increase the number of people for whom the bridge would be crossable. |
