| I prefer to regard the bridge as a heritage burden rather than an asset. How long must we cling to seriously defective structures just because some authority decided they must be preserved whatever? The next twenty, fifty, seventy years or forevermore? Clearly that's nonsense, everything is finite. I think we have a responsibility to sort out our mess promptly and not kick it down the road for future generations to carry the burden. |
