What you don't necessarily see is the consequential damage done to anyone who trips on the damage pavement. Some people never recover at all from a pavement fall, others are hospitalised for long periods and some of those may be unable to work, enjoy or do those things that are taken for granted like looking after their elderly parents, their sick family or their grandchildren - perhaps stopping their parents from working. The consequences can be life-changing - and all because someone was a bit impatient and couldn't wait a minute or two longer. Think again before you drive over pavements the ripple effect might hit your family next time! |
