| Cyclists should obey the road laws, just as other road users should. Police should deal with people who disobey road traffic laws - it should not matter whether it is car drivers or cyclists. I have to admit that as both a cyclist and a pedestrian I had not realised that there was a big problem with people cycling on the pavement on CHR. I do see it regularly but the cyclists are almost all going slowly and being sensible. There is a major problem with cyclists considering red lights to be an inconvenience which should be ignored. The Duke's Avenue lights being a particular problem on my route. Increasingly I am noticing a problem with cyclists going the wrong way down Town Hall Avenue. This is very dangerous, both for pedestrians who are looking the other way for the legal traffic and for the cyclists because when an E3 bus turns left into Town Hall Avenue there is no room for the cyclist if cars are parked up. A serious injury to a cyclist is almost inevitable and it will be 100% the fault of the cyclist |
