| I agree that there isn't a serious issue with pavement cycling in Chiswick and I walk down the High Road nearly every day. Close to half of cyclists do ignore red lights but that doesn't really bother me either as long as they are not crossing a pedestrian phase - it is at their own risk but PCSO Randles might be better employed standing by the Dukes Avenue junction where I've seen cyclists nearly being taken out by vehicles turning left on more than one occasion. He also should position himself near the bus island crossing by the Eye Studio. Many cyclists ignore it and it is safest to assume they will. Last week I was just stepping onto it and saw a cyclist approaching about 15 yards away, I caught his eye and assumed he would slow but he accelerated directly at me meaning I needed to jump back to avoid being hit. |
