| "..especially when they are cycling up from behind and overtake people who can't see or hear them approaching" Didn't it used to be compulsory for cyclists to have a bell or other warning device fitted ? I tried cycling up CHR westbound on Saturday using the cycle lane and stopped at a number of crossings where the signs clearly showed a red cycle light, only to watch various delivery cyclists and the like sail straight past. A crackdown on those who ignore red lights and do not have or use a bell would be a better idea to start with than going after pavement cyclists. |
