Yes, I can agree with that. But we shouldn't be reminded of it by a purely performative proscription of a group which can't justifiably be described as terrorist. Have they attempted to, or threatened to, kill anybody or take hostages? Have they created a serious risk to the health or safety of the public? Were their actions designed to intimidate the public? They are only deemed to be terrorists because in the Terrorism Act the government introduced serious damage to property as one of the defining actions of terrorists - a test which the UN Security Council resolution does not recognise. Palestine Action has absolutely nothing in common with the 7/7 bombers. |
