| If, as Trump claims, the US strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities have 'completely and totally obliterated' them, why, given that Netanyahu's pretext for attacking Iran was the elimination of those facilities, is Israel still bombing Iran? I guess you might reply that it still needs to knock out missile sites, in case of Iranian reprisals. But it's mighty convenient that it provides an excuse for endless war, which Netanyahu needs to keep Ben-Gvir amd Smotrich happy, and stop them from bringing down his government, which would inevitably lead to his having to face justice. Israel's policies are driven not by an honest assessment of what is in the country's best interests, but rather by Netanyahu's personal interests. |
