Jayne, you obviously feel you're losing the argument if you need to misrepresent me twice. First, I didn't make light of this 'super serious' issue. I was mocking Julian's attempt to downplay the reality of the hostages' families' criticism of Netanyahu when he suggested it was merely 'politics'. Second, I did not "turn on Isreal (sic) or the Jewish population". My criticism was specifically directed at Netanyahu. As for Julian's attempt to suggest today's protest was just politics as usual, the fact is that it was by far the largest protest since 7th October. The crowd in Jerusalem stretched for blocks around the Knesset, and hostages'families were deeply involved. See what Haaretz says: "During the last two weeks, most of the families have maintained restraint, but toward the last weekend, many of them reached boiling point. This was brought on by the realisation that the negotiations were not moving forward, the media reports that Netanyahu was stalling and the testimony of freed hostages Amit Soussana and Moran Stela Yanai about the sexual abuse they suffered in captivity." If you still can't see Netanyahu for the criminal that he is, the hostages' families are under no illusion. |
