| While I don't want to get into the position of being the defender of the RFU, I do believe that they would dearly love to expand the pool of fully professional teams in the country. However, they would like to do that without having to give too much financial support and that means that they are insisting on clubs bringing in a significant ticket revenue hence the ground capacity requirements. If London Irish could find a way to deliver that, I believe a fast track to the Premiership could be found for them but, I am much less confident of this happening than I was when this thread started. |
