Perhaps Twickenham (not the Stoop) could be coming into play. The RFU have been at loggerheads with Richmond Council over licensing rules which restrict the amount of pop concerts they hold and are threatened to revive plans to move. They probably have more leeway to stage more matches at the ground and, while it won't generate as much money as Beyonce, they have to find ways to pay the CEO's salary. Queens Park play in front of fewer than 2,000 people at Hampden Park which can hold 50,000 and the Premiership matches held at Twickenham have attracted big crowds when they get the ticket prices right. Can appreciate that this is a long shot but the options seem to be very limited and there must be some sort of plan in place. |
