| "Tree" might not be the best descriptor for the third. Well said, yet this is what TfL proposes as "like for like" replacement. Did you know the trees in question, mostly at Notting Hill Gate, were planted as the result of a local initiative 25 years ago and are just now coming in to their own in terms of being able to filter pollutants? In one fell swoop, TfL wanted to erase the local contribution and plant saplings incapable of filtration. Fun fact...trees like that can be re-located at great cost. But it could actually save the trees, perhaps assuage the locals and - wait for it - achieve a goal. But again, TfL lacks community engagement and the skill to collaborate. Oh yeah, and the trees you show are just like the ones on the A4 which your cronies deem to precious for removal for a bike lane there. |
