| "Borough responsible for Grenfell Tower" Aren't building codes responsible for the use of the curtain wall system set nationally? Isn't that why money is being set aside to address the issue throughout the UK? RBKC isn't responsible for the aluminum system being used in, say, Manchester, is it? RBKC might be accountable for a slow response but the building unfortunately adhered to allowable codes. A response, I might add, that is exacerbated by international legalities as the manufacturer of the panels is an American company. Would that anyone could expedite legal proceedings and insurance settlements. If only. Note to Tony Smart - this is site specific as other countries outlawed this doomed cladding yet here in the UK it was completely legitimate. |
