Thanks for the update, Adam. I read the report – typical work of a State pedant. He says that the main issue is the effect of the development on the character or appearance of the Old Chiswick Conservation Area. What a load of rubbish. The panels are high up on a wall opposite a warehouse where LBH have put no effort in at all to preserve the Old Conversation Area. Along the main stretch of the Mall there are nice old fashioned lanterns; but LBH have stuck old motorway lamps along Chiswick lane South, plus a P&D machine outside the entrance door to the Heronry. Plus further down the Mall, LBH allowed the building of some super modern houses, which overlook the river (and are quite ugly in my opinion). Why? Because they sold off the hospital to developers; a hospital that was a gift to the people of Chiswick from the owners of the old Cherry Blossom. Usual double standards. Joy, sorry to hear about this. At least you’ve put a smile on Adam’s face. Super pedant, Parking Ticket Man, Jennings will be pleased too. Just leave them there, anyway! Sod ‘em. |
