My thanks to Paul and Michael Brown for their kind support. Climate change is important and so is the fact that oil is running out...that being so it seems a good idea for the sake of those who come after us to do what we can. As Michael Brown has noted, we have put these panels on a wall at a high level opposite a factory warehouse where they cannot be seen from the windows of any other house and very few people even notice them and as he points out. the payback is 25 years and we are 80 years old, so this is not a personal money making exercise but an attempt to do our bit and we cannot understand why the Council or anyone else should object. The Council do not treat this street - Chiswick Lane South - as if it were part of a Conservation Area at all. They light it with ugly motorway/style fluorescent lights; replace cracked paving stones,(only after complaints from people who have fallen over them), with unsightly tarmac patches and allow huge continental lorries and coaches to drive up and park outside the Brewery shop or as often as not in resident’s bays. What we need is some help because if we lose we will have to pay for scaffolding to remove the panels, which we can ill afford, and I don't suppose their 2nd hand value will be up to much. Why not come and see for yourselves and then perhaps help us by signing our petition? ( we live at 4, The Heronry, Heron House, Chiswick Lane South tel no 0208 995 3000) or emailing Sean.Doran@hounslow.gov.uk cc Shane Baker,Marilyn Smith at the Planning Dept. with your views. PS I made a mistake about the last date for expressing an opinion – it is Nov. the 12th. PPS my thanks again to Michael Brown..I will track down Sam Hearn and see if he can help us. |
