Ask those 167 people the following; Would you be happy to look on to a wall of solar panels from your house? Answer NO Would you be happy for your neighbour to put them up without being able to have your views taken into account? Answer NO Would you be happy for another property owner to make a unilateral decision to put them up without going through the due planning? Answer NO Should there be no consequences for flouting the process? Answer NO Its not good enough to say, as an owner, I have decided it’s OK to go ahead because of xyz reasons. It may well be OK in the end but, as in many other cases, I am left with the feeling that “environmentalists” justify projects regardless of how they look in a way it’s politically incorrect to disagree with. I read in the Telegraph just yesterday that the are advanced plans for in excess of another 1000 (yes one thousand!) wind farms in the Scottish Boarders, an area dear to my heart, despite strong feeling enough is enough. |
