”Would you be happy to look on to a wall of solar panels from your house?” They can’t be seen from anyone’s house. “Would you be happy for your neighbour to put them up without being able to have your views taken into account?” They’re not spoiling any neighbours' views. “Would you be happy for another property owner to make a unilateral decision to put them up without going through the due planning?” They were told by the council that it was ok to proceed and that retrospective planning permission would be fine. “Should there be no consequences for flouting the process?” The process hasn’t been flouted and the application will be considered in the same way as it would be as if the panels had not been fitted, as stated by our planning expert, Adam Beamish. But there are consequences – they now don’t know if they’ll be permitted to keep them. I’m sorry you don’t like the panels, Adrian. You’re not alone, as we know. It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out. |
