I don't know how to cure the recession, but I do believe that more super-rich coming here (French or otherwise,) is the last thing the London housing market needs. The trickle-down effect already means that no-one can get onto the first rung of the property ladder without a big leg-up from a rich Mummy and Daddy, while councils are being crippled by rising rent costs, for housing benefit claimants. For more details about why the super-rich love London and why it doesn't help the rest of us: http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2012/feb/24/why-super-rich-love-uk?INTCMP=SRCH |
