I am not going to comment on whether what cameron did was right or wrong, but i am going to comment on the amount of ill-informed, illogical, historically incorrect bigoted views of some people in this thread. I find it both depressing and astonishing that people can claim to have knowledge about the opinions of "the majority of ordinary people all over Europe". I work in an international business and spend the majority of my time talking to "the ordinary people" all around Europe and other parts of the world...and the plain fact is that absolutely no-one understands the outdated jingoistic position that many people in Britain retain - irrespective of the European Union, single currency or any other aspect of it - and find the whole thing faintly amusing. As i say, i am not commenting on what is right or wrong in terms of the veto (or "no" as was pointed out earlier in this thread), just purely on the small-minded attitude of too many people who really don't understand the bigger picture. |
