Re: Hammersmith Hospital This begs the question of the lack of step-free access at East Acton and White City stations and additionally the lack of immediate bus facilities at the former. Regardless whether those stations fall in the Ealing North constituency Hammersmith Hospital is used by many of its constituents, as the hospital is part of that area's health authority. Both stations could be done on the cheap(ish): East Acton by making the eastbound platform into an island platform and moving the eastbound track to the "new" side, ie onto the disused GWR roadbed, thus only requiring one lift and at White City by reallocating the middle track to westbound running. In both cases only one lift would be required. |
