Oh look one of the leading close minded and self centered lobbyists that spins out constant disinformation accusing me of bluster. Oh the irony. I have read a number of documents, what answer exactly do you want me to find. CS9 was very clear in its objective of connecting major town centres, it had no interface with any other local cycle routes, which indeed do no not exist. It made no effort to understand local travel patters and the needs of residents and business. None. Its even more ironic that the project is summarised as 'provide improvements for all road users' and 'create a more appealing environment for everyone to enjoy'. Really? They must think we are all idiots. The final and biggest laugh is this: 'providing improved crossing facilities for pedestrians'. No mention of bus users or those waiting on floating stops. A bit like Ken's tram plan, it saw a fairly straight line on a map and wanted to build a cycle highway along it. Nothing else matters. As you point out in a pandemic and with more people staying local, with long term effects, then investing in local infra and addressing key local dangerous junctions (like the A4) might be a better way to spend the money. |
